Niko Kranjcar out for 6 months
Rangers manager Mark Warburton has confirmed that their midfielder Niko Kranjcar will be out for 6 months after being injured in training.
The player is said to be out for at least six months and has already undergone surgery on his knee.
Mark Warburton said that he would look to sign new players during the transfer window to cater for the loss of Niko Kranjcar.
This is a massive lost for the side as Niko Kranjcar has been instrumental this season. The former Croatian player has indeed scored 3 goals so far this season and has also assisted 3 goals in all competitions where he has featured.
Niko Kranjcar is an experienced midfielder who has played for the top sides in Europe among which Tottenham Hotspurs and Portsmouth.
Mark Warburton said that it is a disappointing loss for the team and that the club will have to look for ways to replace the player. The manager said that the former Croatian international has had a good start to this season and that he was counting on him to help the team compete at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
The Rangers coach said that there is high chance that he goes into the transfer market when it opens in January to get a couple of deals that can strengthen the team. He said that he would primarily be looking for loan deals that might help the team move to the next level. He admitted that it would not be easy as there are not many clubs that would want to part with their best players.
Niko Kranjcar joined Rangers on a free transfer this season and has made a wonderful contribution to the club so far. Warburton said that he would primarily be looking for a player that has a similar profile to Niko Kranjcar.
