Rugby Camp Of Tigers At Belgium
The coaching team of the Leicester Tigers community brought another first, the inaugural rugby camp of club in Belgium. This was done during the holidays of Easter.
Leicester Tigers has developed a partnership with one of the Belgium’s top clubs. And a team of coaches of Tigers spent five days there working with over 170 young players that aged between 6-18 at RFC Dendermonde.
At the time, they also introduced these young players with the how the Tigers play the game. In addition to that, the team of coaches puts a focus on the characteristics of rugby, while understanding and building the values of the Tigers Family.
The approach of the club and the coaches received the superb support of volunteers at RFC Dendermonde. Here the junior and mini coaches worked side by side with the professionals of Tigers all through the week. They were seen together during the day on the pitch and in the evening session of coach education that share and build the rugby knowledge.
Head of global partnerships of Tigers Scott Clarke said: “Rugby Club at Dendermonde is a wonderful example; how a community comes together to create something special through rugby. The club has worked really hard to provide the facilities, both on and off the pitch for players in numbers and of all the ages. Here, they created an atmosphere like a family and showed their spirit towards the game”.
He further added that “The new clubhouse in Dendermonde is a wonderful and an exceptional resource for the local community and the volunteers of the club had worked tirelessly to maximize its value. This is a club with a long-term plan and the team of Tiger is delighted to work with them to support the growth of the game in the Belgium and also the growth of the players and locals there”.
