even the organization is into all this, they design the tours according to the state of affairs of doping. you don’t see tours today with 3 summit finishes in the alpes + 3 summit finishes in the Pyrenees (mostly HC or 1ºcat.) like you did on the 90’s and early 2000’s on the golden age of EPO and blood transfusion. they’re still doing it today, but not as hard core
it’s this sport culture, everybody who’s there knows has always been like this. But Armstrong took it into a all other level
You can kinda hear it. 20 pounds lighter but the same strength. Actually it’s the same with Wiggins now. Also lost a lot of weight to be able to climb.
When these journalists saw this they knew he was doping. They must have said to themselves while doing commentary: “What a guts, after Festina scandal, ride up the mountain like this. I am stunned.” But they didn’t say anything.
